Go1 is on a continuous mission to curate and build the most diverse and extensive global content library that meets the style of every learner. Today, we are announcing two exciting additions to our premium library, Coursera Guided Projects and virtual reality courses, both of which will support employees who learn best with an immersive, hands-on experience.  

Coursera Guided Projects cover a diverse range of skills, such as data analysis, design, software development, digital marketing, cloud computing, and more. A sample of titles includes Introduction to JavaScript, Learn and Design an Attractive PowerPoint Presentation, and Introduction to SQL Window Functions. Guided Projects leverage a short, task-based approach to help learners quickly build job-relevant skills using the latest tools and technologies. An embedded, side-by-side interface allows learners to practice what they learn while following recorded video guidance from expert instructors without leaving the Go1 platform. Each project can be completed in less than two hours. Studies show that if new information is not applied, we will forget 75% of it after only 6 days. This level of applied learning enhances the retention of information, promoting ongoing growth and development. 

As a further extension of the Go1 offering, we have also expanded our partnership with ​​Talespin, a spatial computing platform powering talent development for the future of work, to add virtual reality courses where learners will be able to immerse themselves in learning in a comfortable, low-risk environment — perfect for learners who find themselves easily distracted. With immersive learning courses from iAM Learning, AMC, Chart Learning Solutions, and more, learners can upskill and apply their knowledge in a variety of soft skill topics like leadership, negotiations, de-escalation, and handling complaints. Whether learners access these courses through a VR headset or desktop, they can directly engage in learning and practice role-play conversations with virtual human instructors. VR training for soft skills can increase confidence in handling a situation by 275% because it provides a safe space for employees to practice what they’ve learned.

Welcome back to our product release update blog! Read on to learn more about our new content curation tool and improvements to the playlist experience. 

In October, we launched a new way to help you quickly find the right content to support your learning programs. 

The Content Curation Tool allows Admins to generate hand-curated Playlists in the Go1 Platform to share, export, and deliver learning that meets your needs. 

Leveraging the Go1 Content Curation Team's expertise and staff picks, you can be confident that you are being recommended the best quality and most relevant content. 

You can now access all your Playlists in the new 'My Playlists' tab from the Dashboard. 

Within a Playlist, you can now reorder learning and add learning using our new Explore sidebar, among other updates. 

The Go1 research group aims to understand our customer's goals and objectives and how we can best help you achieve your desired business outcomes.

Product release round up October - December 2022

As another year speeds towards its end, we’re looking back on the exciting updates, additions and improvements here at Go1. 

Our focus this year has been on not only continuing to grow the scale of learning content, but investing further into expanding the quality and diversity of resources.   

Over 8,474 new courses added to the Go1 Content library.  

24 new learning providers from the US, Australia, the UK and India.  

Topics ranging from Content Technology, Health & Wellbeing, Engineering, HR and Health & Safety. 

We also introduced a calendar full of curated learning playlists, the 12 Months of Learning Calendar, ready to roll out to learners all around the globe.

 2022 saw some impressive improvements and new features focused on streamlining and simplifying both the admin and end user experience of the Go1 platform.

Year in review 2022

We’re back again with updates on what’s been released across our technology here at Go1. Keep reading to learn all about the improvements and new features that we are super excited about! 

Greater user insights and feedback, in one place 

Admins will be able to see what courses their learners are liking, disliking, saving, sharing, and the comments they leave in the course completion survey in our new Manager Insights page. They can also see reporting issues on content they have created.  

The aim is to drive insights into learner preferences, by providing administrators data against individual learning resources. You can then validate the satisfaction of the learning experience of your employees and make improvements to your learning programs.  

Auto-reassign on courses so you can set-and-forget your learning 

Automated reassign is now available against course types only, so Administrators can set-and-forget learning that needs to be repeated in a repeatable timeframe. This timeframe can be mandated by their organization’s governing body, or internal organizational policy. Often, this is annual recurring compliance training. 

Send Welcome email in bulk to users, for effective launch and onboarding 

Previously, the Welcome email was sent to new users as soon as they were added to the Go1 Platform. Now, you can choose when to send the Welcome email to a cohort of users, to give you more control over launch and onboarding activities, and support your workflow effectively. 

Bulk-add users to Groups within the Platform, with no more pesky .csv uploads  

Save a lot of precious time by simplifying your onboarding and offboarding workflow when people join or leave your organization. 

Select multiple groups when assigning learning  

Save time and assign learning to more groups more effectively by selecting multiple groups, when you assign a piece of learning content, across the Platform. 

Ensure new employees are completing training in the right timeframes when they join by applying relative due dates

Relative due dates allow a Learner to complete their training within a specified timeframe, as opposed to a set date. This is an especially important functionality to support the ongoing workflow of adding new employee cohorts to Groups when they join an organization. 


Simpler reporting: Filter by Group from the Manage page of any resource

Track completion status against learning assigned to a Group, within Manage page, against every piece of content, in one simple click. 

Email addresses are no longer visible in Groups to Learners, in order to maintain an individual’s privacy. Admins and Content Admins can still view email addresses in Groups. 

Ensure completion of assigned learning  

Learners can’t opt out of Groups where there is assigned learning, when a group has been selected as ‘Restricted’. 

For all Go1 learners, we have modernised the course completion experience to make it easier for users to provide ratings and depth of feedback. There is now an improved survey to enhance quality and relevancy of courses to users. For learners taking their courses in the Go1 Platform, we have elevated course recommendations to help learners know what to do next and inspire continuous learning, within the player.

Product release round up July - September 2022

We’re back again with updates on what’s been released across our technology here at Go1! Have a read below to learn about the releases we are excited about.

In April, we worked with customers to migrate them to the new version of data feed which has been built to increase the long-term reliability and visibility of the service. This improved service resolves some previous issues and helps the Go1 team to troubleshoot and surface any issues in customer data. Please contact your Customer Success Manager if you would like to find out more or implement this feature.  

A playlist tab has been added to the ‘Saved’ tab in My Learning so that users can have improved visibility of their created playlists.  

Simplifying the task of adding multiple users to Groups

Groups of learners will change over time, and it’s important to make this a simple task. Soon you will be able to add multiple users to a group in one action from the User Management page. This means you can also filter your users down to your preferred cohort, and all within the system. No more pesky .csv files. You can expect to see this improvement coming next month!

Welcome to the latest product release blog! Read on to learn about improvements and new features that we've released in the last few months including a new playlist tab and an improved data feed experience.

We’re back again with updates on what’s been released across our technology here at Go1! We’re particularly excited about our updates for learners, for whom we have improved the learning player experience by changing the way peripheral content is displayed and introducing 5 new action buttons to increase learner feedback and engagement.  

For Administrators and Managers, we have continued with our aim to make assigning and managing mandatory learning easier and more seamless across the platform. We have also introduced a new recommendations carousel on the Learning Dashboard for Learning Managers.

Reduce the time it takes to assign, track, and re-assign learning 

There has previously been some confusion between assign and enrol. We're making the best of both with a new unified assign that looks and behaves the same across the Platform. This will include relative, optional due dates. The Manage page has also been updated to improve the way key tasks are performed. 

Find Learners more quickly - Learning Managers can search using ‘email’ or ‘name’ when assigning learning. 

Make following up a breeze - With a single click, filter overdue learners. Send a standard or customized reminder to them all right from the Manage feature. 

Quickly access the Manage page via Groups - In one click, Learning Managers can now access the Manage page of every learning resource via Groups. 

Edit assigned learning with ease - With the new Manage feature, you can edit or delete many assignments at once. 

We have released an improvement of our learning player that changes how peripheral content is displayed by introducing a collapsible drawer at the bottom of the screen which will house the description of the content. All descriptions were automatically moved to this lower panel and no content was lost. The right-hand panel will remain for all courses and will continue to display course structure and learner progress. 

To increase learner feedback and engagement, 5 action items were added to the bottom drawer (mentioned above) in 1player. These include: 

Thumbs up and thumbs down rating - giving us the ability to find out when a user likes or dislikes content 

Save button - allow users to save items to their playlist in the Go1 platform 

Share button - users can create and copy a share link for any learning resource to encourage others to learn 

Report an issue button - users will be able to flag issues whilst they are learning to help Go1 identify content with errors. 

The thumbs up / down buttons and the report an issue button have been released to all customers and partners. The save and share buttons were launched to Go1 Platform customers only.

With over 7,660 new learning resources added to the Go1 Content library since December 2020, we are excited that the diversity of our digital learning library continues to grow. 

Our improvements, integrations, and resource additions are consistently driven by our goal to provide quality and accessible learning. We have summarised below a handful of the many exciting changes and updates rolled out over the last 12 months.

Improvements, expansions and integrations. We’re just getting started. Here, we summarise a handful of the many exciting changes and updates rolled out over the last 12 months.

We’re back again with updates on what’s been released across our technology here at Go1! We’re particularly excited about our updates for learners, for whom we have provided more control over their learning experience with playback functionality, to learn at their own pace. There will be more work in this area in order to provide a more equitable learner experience, as referenced in our latest Product webinar for customers. More to come.

For Administrators and Managers, we have made it easier to assign and manage mandatory learning across the platform, an ongoing project to make this essential task as seamless as possible.

At Go1 we champion easy access to learning for all. Much of our focus lately has been on integrating with key partners such as Microsoft, and Workplace from Facebook, who enable your employees to learn at the point of need, in the flow of work.

The new suggested search UI provides a clearer way for users to continue their search. Users can now see suggested search categories in a new and more structured layout, allowing them to dig into their preferred search results more efficiently.

There will be some more improvements to the search functionality in the upcoming months, which we will share in the next blog.

Course feedback for a better learner experience

Learners can now provide feedback on their experience at the end of every course. This supports us in our quest to get to know our learners better and which content resonates with learners across the board.

The ability to provide feedback is available across all learning resources available via the Go1 Content Hub, and courses that have been created using Go1's content authoring tool by Administrators. Right now we are exploring options for how we most effectively use course feedback in a way that will enhance the learner experience, including course recommendations. Longer-term, we will look at how we share these insights back to Admins.

We have improved how your welcome message is presented on your learner dashboard. The text is separated from the image for accessibility, so learners do not have a compromised experience when they land on the learner dashboard.

You will still be able to change the text size and hyperlink using the rich text editor from the settings page.

Learn at your own pace with improvements to video learning resources

A playback speed feature is now available on all video learning resources available via Go1 Content Hub, including videos you have uploaded through the course creation tool as an Administrator.

Youtube and Vimeo already have this functionality so there is no change for videos hosted by these sites. This allows learners to play the video speed faster or slower as they need, to suit their needs.

Playback can be adjusted to 0.25x, 0.5x, 0.75x, 1x (normal), 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, and 2x speed.

Improvements to assigning and managing mandatory learning

We are excited to provide an opt-in experience that provides an improved way of assigning and managing learning.

Go1 Platform administrators can now opt in to access our new Manage page, available for every course and learning resource.

This new feature allows you to assign and manage mandatory compliance, professional development, and performance management training to one or multiple learners.

'Assign' and 'enrol' flow has been consolidated to just 'assign' in a number of places across the Go1 Platform.

From the Manage page, you can perform the following actions:

Add a due date for self-directed learning

This new feature is available for optional opt-in from the ‘Results’ or ‘Reports’ tab of any learning resource. We don’t currently have a mandatory roll-over date for this experience. Make sure you sign up for the Go1 research group to shape how this experience meets your needs.

Context-switching is one of today’s biggest barriers to employee productivity; it makes it harder to get essential work done and employees can spend at least 30 minutes a day toggling between tools, according to this study by Slack.

We integrate with a number of ‘Learning in the flow’ tools to remove barriers to learning:

Bring learning to all your workforce without having to switch to another learning platform.

Make learning personal and cater to individual learning preferences.

Deliver "just-in-time" learning experiences with relevant content and feedback to drive productivity.

A better sign-in experience for your learners

We have improved the look of the sign-in experience, and theme configuration tools, so it’s even simpler for administrators to provide a familiar, branded log-in for their users when they log in. 

Upgrade your platform to the new settings from Wednesday, July 14th, with a mandatory rollout to all Go1 Platforms occurring on 28th July, 2021.

There is no change to functionality; these improvements include: 

A simplification in branding the platform within Settings > Theme and Configuration, which allows for image cropping and zoom on images used in the sign-up/sign-in page.

A new ‘preview’ feature that lets Administrators see the changes in place before they are saved - no more guessing.

Find learning resources to meet your needs and discover related content you may not have considered 

As the largest curated eLearning library from the world’s top training providers, our search functionality is so important to help you find the right courses to upskill, re-train, and retain your employees.

A new suggested keywords search UI provides a clearer way for you to find the right content more quickly. Users can now see suggested search categories in a new and more structured layout, allowing them to dig into their preferred search results more efficiently. 

Users can now filter content by Levels “Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Applicable for All” on search results. The definition for these levels is the suggested competency level prior to starting. 

Users will now also filter content by Regions and Language Dialect on search results within the Content Selector and Search & Explore.

We've attributed a region only when that content is made specifically for a particular region - eg. country or region-specific compliance content.

Where region is not important in finding the right content, (e.g. soft skills content), it has been marked as global.

Language Dialect indicates the accent or language locale that the content contains and is currently available for English (US), English (AU), English (UK).

Search will remain a focus for us in the upcoming months and we will continue to ensure the integrity of our search algorithm. 

When exporting .csv reports, ‘Manager Email’ is now available for all administrators to simply export the relationship between managers and learners. To export this information, ensure Manager ID is selected and visible as a column in the report before exporting.

Product release round up April - June 2021

We are spending more time digging into how to best improve how our users browse and discover content, which includes course description pop-ups (update below). This means we are extending release from April as articulated in this blog, and will communicate a new release date in due course. If you would like to provide input on this, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.

Let’s talk about mandatory training improvements

We have been busy conducting a number of discovery workshops here at Go1 to support users in the Go1 Platform who need to find, assign, track, and report on specific pieces of learning within their organisation.

‘Achievements’ is still on track for release this year, but we are excited to let you know that we are fast-tracking solutions to the biggest blockers that our customers have identified during feedback. These improvements will provide the foundations for Achievements.

Next month, we will release a simplified Enrol & Assign experience. This will also enable us to revamp the ability to set recurring training; a core activity in assignation, so you can 'set and forget' your mandatory training and alleviate administration time.

Other parts of the Platform subsequently, subtly uplifted include:  

Thereafter, our focus will be geared towards how learning content is presented in Achievements, and associated completion rules. More info to come in due course!

Scheduled infrastructure upgrade in early April

We will be conducting scheduled infrastructure upgrades on Saturday 3rd April from 3 pm AEST until 8 pm AEST, over a 5-hour window. Full service will resume thereafter. Keep up to date via our FAQs page here.

This will affect every user who accesses learning content from Go1, or uses the Go1 Platform and API endpoints. 

The purpose of these upgrades means Go1 can more efficiently release improvements and enhancements, resulting in a better experience for you and your users, and partners.

We will communicate with you over the next few weeks with more information so you can share this update internally. 

When any user hovers over a course a more detailed explanation of the course appears in a pop-up. This means you no longer need to click on a course to discover more detail, including important information such as course description, learning outcomes, skill level, type, and total duration. 

This improvement will be available within Explore, all Search results pages, and also in the Content Dashboard. Due for release in April.

All user roles can start the course immediately, or ‘save’ to review for later, directly from the pop-up.

Admins will not have the ability to enrol or assign to others from the pop-up, but still by selecting the ellipsis (...) directly from the courses in Search result lists.

Playlist authors can now navigate to the Content Dashboard to remove individual resources from a playlist, or delete the playlist entirely.

Within Search and Explore, learners can now filter the list of playlists by Topic, ensuring content can be found more quickly and intuitively. Published playlists use automated topic prediction.

Here at Go1, we have kicked off 2021 with gusto and have a wide range of initiatives across the business to uplift the Go1 experience for all our customers and partners. This includes scheduled infrastructure upgrades, a better compliance training experience, and faster Playlist management. Read on to learn more!
