We are proud to announce that we have raised over $100M in our latest funding round closed in May. The new capital will help us accelerate our journey to reach a billion learners with upskilling, reskilling and knowledge tools that empower workers across the globe.

The round brings Go1’s total funding to over $400M, increasing our valuation to over $2B. Participants in the round include AirTree Ventures, Blue Cloud Ventures, Five Sigma, Madrona, Salesforce Ventures, and SoftBank Vision Fund 2.

Here at Go1, we are continuing to invest in the rapid growth of our global ecosystem of corporate learning. North America has recently emerged as our largest market, and we have also recently announced a further step into the European market via the acquisition of Coorpacademy, which extends our French and German language content partner offerings and creator reach. 

Similarly, we've expanded our reach in Southeast Asia with offices in Malaysia and Singapore, affording multinationals and local organizations the ability to reskill the enterprise and promote ongoing learning. We've also expanded our content offering with recent announcements of Pluralsight and Harvard Business Publishing content now available to our audience of over 5 million learners.

●      Ashleigh Loughnan, Chief People Officer. Loughnan has more than a decade of experience working in generalist human resources, operational, and leadership roles in both startup and public companies, including Wotif (owned by Expedia). She is responsible for creating different pathways to secure top talent and create and execute a DEI strategy.

●      Ben Allen, Chief Marketing Officer. Allen brings nearly a decade of experience in B2B SaaS go-to-market leadership, including leading marketing at Snapdocs and Apttus (now Conga). He will lead Go1’s marketing strategy and execution globally from the U.S.

●      Antony Ugoni, Chief Data Officer. Ugoni has held a variety of senior leadership positions in data and analytics and is currently Chairperson on the advisory board for the Institute of Analytics Professionals of Australia. Ugoni will lead Go1’s data and data science teams, serving both internal business intelligence needs and enhancing the Go1 platform’s governance and utility of data.  

●      Jared Goralnick, Senior Vice President, Product Management. Goralnick has a track record of leading innovative and high-performing product teams, most recently holding the position as VP of Product at Upwork. At Go1, he will lead product development efforts globally.

Go1 secures fresh support of over $100 million after a year of record growth and international expansion

The HR industry is full of amazing people who are doing amazing things. The UNLEASH America HR technology conference was a great place to learn more about what they're doing, and how they're doing it.

We can't even begin to describe the experience of attending UNLEASH America Technology Conference. The conference was an incredible opportunity to meet some of the biggest names in HR tech, learn about their processes, and have hundreds of conversations with peers and L&D professionals. We absorbed decades of knowledge from these people, and for that, this experience was invaluable!

During the event, we were thrilled to hear from Sam Rogers of ConvaTec about how they use Go1's Content Hub to overcome business challenges. From quick launch to developing various training paths, Sam spoke about how ConvaTec leverages Go1 to improve their jobs, employees, and company.

We also held a reception on day 1 and we couldn't have been more pleased with the turnout. Attendees enjoyed great conversation, appetizers and drinks with Go1 team members and other conference attendees. 

We had a blast meeting new people and catching up with old friends. Thank you all for spending time with us and making it such an incredible experience.

What a week! The ATD 2022 Conference & EXPO was an amazing experience for our team. We were able to network with attendees from around the world, learn about new perspectives on developing talent, maximize potential, and create strategic transformations for organizations and learners.

We had so much fun connecting with other L&D professionals—both old friends and new ones—and we're so grateful for the opportunity to come together with our peers in this field.

ATD 2022 recap: Go1 highlights

Our Product, Design & Engineering teams recently held an epic hackathon that levelled up from previous years. The event was mostly virtual with teams taking part from around Australia, Vietnam, and the US. Their challenge was “Go-Gamify” - be inspired by games and gaming technologies to solve a problem for Corporate E-Learning.  

The winning team was the Voodoo Gurus consisting of Jasneet, Tara, Pete, Vivian & Isabel. Their winning pitch was a stand-out as they had designed and validated a new Corporate E-Learning product!

Graduate Developer Isabel Cheung started at Go1 in March 2022 and couldn’t believe her team had won!  

“The Hackathon was a great learning experience for me and it helped me grow closer with the people in my team. At first, I was shocked by the win, especially as a grad dev who is very new to the whole software developer experience. It was a very intense two days but full of fun, learning and laughter!” 

Team 3D Interactive Learning won both ‘Most Innovative’ and ‘Crowd Favorite’ awards with their virtual learning metaverse created in just 2 days!  

Other prize categories went to ‘Best Technical Application’ and ‘Most Finished Product’.

We are so excited to announce the acquisition of Coorpacademy, an innovative corporate learning platform and content library with a multinational customer base. With offices in France and Switzerland, Coorpacademy will support Go1’s growth plans for Europe, a notable region, expanding its large corporate learning market, and its already vast offerings of digital learning and education resources.

This latest acquisition presents a big opportunity for Go1 and moves the needle closer to our goal of reaching one billion learners globally, as well as highlighting Go1's commitment to continuing momentum of steady growth following its $200M Series D funding round in July 2021. As we continue to scale globally as a leader in the corporate education space, we plan to focus on expansion in the US and Europe but are looking forward to the opportunities of reaching and impacting new regions in the future.

Aaron Tait is the Co-Founder and Director of Innovation at Education Changemakers focused on identifying and engaging with ideas that lead to rapid and scaled global impact.

In a world with more than 70 million educators, we’ve decided to think differently about teacher training…

In 2011, in a Sydney bar, we wrote the first ideas for Education Changemakers on a napkin.

Aaron had just returned to Australia after running a school for at-risk children in a Tanzanian township. Dave was working as regional director of schools in the Northern Territory following his leadership of the transformation of Halls Creek District High School.

On the napkin, we sketched out a professional development program that would focus on supporting educators to step up as high-impact changemakers in their schools. A few months later we launched EC, and got to work.

In the ten years since the EC team has engaged with hundreds of thousands of educators around the world. If you have been part of the EC journey you’ve attended one of our workshops, come along to events we’ve run, engaged in a student challenge we’ve launched, listened to our podcast, or read our books. Over the years we’ve heard so many stories of teacher-led change, and whilst there are too many changemakers to name, please know that we see you, and are blown away.

In the last few years Dave and I have thought a great deal about how we can learn from this past decade of effort, and bounce off the trampoline that we’ve built to reach a whole new level of scale.

And that brings us to this moment, and the news we have to share…

Which is that Education Changemakers is joining forces with Go1.

Go1 is a very exciting learning company that already engages millions of people with more than 100,000 online professional development courses. In 2022 we have come together to grow what we hope will be a powerful, engaging, and inspiring way for teachers and school leaders to engage in high-impact professional development from the world’s best providers.

Of course, EC will continue to provide the programs that people have come to know us for, but at the same time, we will be rapidly growing our team and our new learning approach. Becoming a part of the Go1 family will allow us to work at a speed and scale that we are incredibly excited about.

Improvements, expansions and integrations. We’re just getting started. Here, we summarise a handful of the many exciting changes and updates rolled out over the last 12 months.

The Emerging Stronger team combines the expertise of Michelle Ockers, Shannon Tipton and Laura Overton, award winning L&D industry analysts and strategists who have been working together to empower L&D leaders to take bold action to positively influence business value. 

Over the past 18 months, Emerging Stronger has established a reputation for independent evidence based thinking through their global masterclasses, podcast and resources designed to support the post pandemic world of L&D.

From time to time, the question comes up: does Go1 invest in other companies? We think about that question in the context of how we achieve our mission to unlock positive potential through a love of learning.   

There is so much potential in the world, and so many opportunities to help people learn better. We see this every day in how fostering a love of learning can help people get new jobs, be more effective at their work, deliver better for their customers, and develop themselves as individuals. The world is moving quickly, and learning needs to as well. 

At Go1, the main way we’re helping to unlock that potential is by building the world’s best subscription library for corporate learning, and by opening up our technology for content creators to deliver excellent training to their customers directly. We think there’s a better way to get access to the learning and development experiences employers, employees, and citizens need, and we’re proud to be building it at Go1. 

However, we’re not the only people with amazing ideas about how to unlock people’s positive potential, and how to make learning and development better. There are lots and lots of great companies out there making products that we think are pretty great, and so wherever we can we like to help those companies succeed. 

One way we do that is by working with our content partners and our affiliate partners to help them build great businesses of their own. For content partners, that often looks like providing an additional income stream by being part of Go1 Premium. And on top of that, providing them with data and analytics to identify what the next great bit of content they should build is.  

It could also look like using Go1 Connect to deliver their content to wherever they want it to be. For our affiliate partners, that looks like providing Go1 Premium alongside their own great products to produce an amazing L&D experience for their customers. 

Another way we do that is by investing in great companies who are building amazing things we want to see in the world, and our investment can help catalyze. We’re not a VC fund, but we do like backing great companies where we think one plus one can be (much, much) greater than two.   

One example of this is News Over Audio (Noa). Noa makes it convenient for time-sensitive people to understand and know more about the news that matters, in minutes. Their editors work with some of the world’s biggest publications to curate and consciously package articles in a way that guides you through the biggest news topics. Their team of celebrated narrators then read these articles word-for-word so that you can listen anytime, anywhere. 

Why we have invested in Noa is that we see in them a company that is building a great product to make it easier for people to learn about the world around them. In this case, by putting great content into a format that is easier for people to find time to understand. We think Noa’s product is highly complementary with Go1’s own, so much so that we offer every Noa listener a Go1 learner record so they can connect up all of the things they’re learning. We also offer Noa subscriptions to all of our own staff for free. 

 Another set of examples are companies we have partnered with to co-fund the creation of amazing content we want to see in the world. Our content partners are building fantastic learning experiences, and when the right opportunity comes up for us to catalyze that content being made sooner, better, we co-fund its creation.   

A great example of this is our work with social impact organizations to help them create L&D content so that the impact of their missions can live on in the workplace. We're proud of our work with organisations like Challenge DV and Beyond Blue, that has brought learning experiences on important social topics that people can watch and re-watch at their own pace. 

So hopefully that’s given you a taste of how Go1 thinks about our mission of unlocking positive potential through a love of learning, and how investing in other companies can help achieve that mission.
